Shahar Groode

Therapist

Shahar is one of our wonderfully compassionate therapists, who is inspired by people’s stories of perseverance and resilience

Shahar holds a BA in Psychology and a Master’s degree in Mental Health Counseling. Her biggest wish for clients in recovery (and for people in general) is: “For people to be able to accept themselves as they are, as the first step. Then to understand that shame stands in the way of our well-being. My wish is for clients to be able to face the shame, forgive themselves, and learn to recognize when they are triggered.“

After being born and raised in Israel, Shahar lived in Boston before moving to the Big Island several years ago. While not at work, she loves spending time with her husband and three children. She always cherishes her time in the beautiful nature that the Big Island offers; she especially enjoys visiting her father’s organic farm, which is a wonderfully calm and nurturing environment.
