How much freedom will I have? Will I be able to use my cell phone and laptop?
We offer premier accommodations at Exclusive Hawaii Rehab. We allow access to the internet via laptops, cellphones, or other devices to help you maintain your life through your recovery journey. To maintain a healthy balance, internet use is determined by each client’s specific needs. The key is to not interfere with the program’s delivery or with the client’s process. We encourage clients to communicate with friends and family for therapeutic reasons during the program. This will allow you to learn how to handle triggers and navigate your emotions in real-time with support next to you. Keep in mind however that there may be certain times when your program director may call for a media-free day. This is decided based on the needs and best interests of each individual.
Can my friends or family visit me?
Yes, friends and family are allowed to arrange visits with you at the facility. We highly recommend that loved ones visit at least once during the program; family therapy is part of most of our patient’s treatment programs and your family will participate in an intensive therapy session with you. During therapy sessions, we provide guidance to resolving issues between you and your loved ones. We work on building a strong support system for one another when you leave the program.
We allow medically-approved outings with family and friends during our stay, but please keep in mind that we are bound by our licensing to administer a urine test when you return to the residence. Due to our zero-tolerance program, urine drug screening tests must be free and clear of all substances or you will not be permitted back to the residence.
What is the admissions process like? How soon can I come?
Clients are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis; a non-refundable program deposit is required to start the intake and admissions process. When a room becomes available, it takes 24 hours for intake for Hawaii locals. For clients traveling from elsewhere, intake will take 48 hours depending on the client’s situation. Our admissions process begins with a phone interview to minimize paperwork prior to coming to treatment.
Hilo International Airport is the nearest airport to Exclusive Hawaii Rehab. It is best for clients to arrive Monday through Friday between 9 AM and 1 PM. This is due to the need for blood work required for our medical director to assign your detox protocol. Due to the hours the lab is open, we do not complete admissions during the weekends.
Please call us at (808) 775-0200 or email firstname.lastname@example.org to learn more about the admission process.
What are your credentials and are you licensed?
Our facility is licensed by the State of Hawaii, Department of Health as a special treatment facility, as well as by Hawaii’s Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division (ADAD). We were awarded a three-year accreditation by the renowned Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. This is the highest level of accreditation they present to treatment facilities. We work continuously to improve and expand our treatment services. We are leaders in holistic treatment solutions for substance abuse. We are excited and dedicated to growing our development in the field.
Can I bring my pet?
Can I come for less than 30 days?
We strictly adhere to a 30-day minimum for all clients at Exclusive Hawaii Rehab. We have worked in the addiction treatment program long enough to understand that it takes a minimum of 30 days to be receptive to everything we teach you. Even in our 30-day program, it may be hard to retain the curriculum. If there is space available, we encourage all clients to extend their stay after experiencing the program for a few days.
Do I have to sit through long lectures?
Treatment at Exclusive Hawaii Rehab does not follow a lecture-style format. Our program emphasizes experiential therapy and nature is our classroom. We believe change must be embodied, not simply conceived of in the mind. During your stay, you will participate in small group therapy sessions where you will listen to others’ thoughts and experiences; however, these sessions are interactive, engaging, and never boring.
Do you offer holistic treatments like bodywork and exercise?
Yes, at Exclusive Hawaii Rehab holistic treatment modalities like exercise and bodywork are important aspects of our program. You will also receive one bodywork session per week which could include massage, craniosacral therapy, structural integration, and Reiki (by request). Anyone who would like more of these treatments may purchase additional sessions and add them to their program. Yoga, fitness, and exercise classes are included as part of our program. Island excursions also provide opportunities for exercise in the abundant natural beauty of Hawaii.
What is the difference between 12-step and non 12-step treatment?
Twelve-step recovery programs ask participants to admit that they are powerless over their addiction and give themselves over to a higher power. They also believe that once a person has become an addict they will always be an addict, recovery is a form of remission from an incurable disease. This type of program has helped many people overcome substance abuse while others are seeking something different.
Non 12-step recovery at Exclusive Hawaii Rehab is non-secular in nature and encourages people to discover the strength within themselves to control their substance abuse. We seek to understand the underlying causes of addiction rather than seeing the addiction itself as the center of the person’s difficulties. We help people heal from past trauma, cultivate greater self-awareness, and discover a new more empowered way of living.
What treatment methods does Exclusive Hawaii Rehab use?
Our diverse range of treatment methods is a big part of what makes Exclusive Hawaii Rehab unique. We believe that true recovery can only occur when the deeper underlying factors behind addictive and self-destructive behaviors are explored and healed. The root causes of disease can stem from the body, mind, or spirit so treatment addresses the whole person on all of these levels.
We rely on methods that guide clients on a journey of self-exploration and allow a new perspective to emerge. Treatment methods you may experience at Exclusive Hawaii Rehab include trauma informed therapy, person-centered therapy, claiming a life purpose, life contract therapy, mission therapy, art therapy, experiential therapy (surfing, hiking an active volcano), EFT (neural tapping), Stimulus Belief Response, nature immersion, redefining self narrative, dietary therapy, nutritional supplementation, yoga, massage, craniosacral therapy and traditional Hawaiian therapies like Ho’Oponopono.
How long does treatment last?
Exclusive Hawaii Rehab’s unique addiction treatment program is designed as a 30-day retreat. Anyone can add additional time to their program by purchasing an additional 30 days. Ultimately clients stay with us for 30, 60, or 90 days.
Experience True Healing

Do you offer detox at Exclusive Hawaii Rehab?
Yes, we do offer detox at Exclusive Hawaii Rehab. Rest assured that your safety is our number one priority during detox. Upon arrival, you will go through a detailed intake and assessment process so that our medical and naturopathic doctors will have all the information they need to design a personalized detox protocol just for you. Your detox and withdrawal symptoms will be managed by our medical director on a daily basis. Our doctors and nurses will closely monitor your comfort level and any withdrawal symptoms to ensure the process is as comfortable and painless as possible. We use a slow tapering off schedule designed for each individual by our doctor to ensure that you safely adjust to biochemical changes that occur during this time. Your detox protocol will be updated and adjusted as needed. Detox at Exclusive Hawaii Rehab also includes holistic therapies like supplementation with vitamins, minerals, and herbs to support the body’s natural detoxification pathways. We know that many people are very concerned about detox and that it can be uncomfortable. We want you to know that we are totally committed to supporting you through detox and doing everything we can to make the process as safe and easy as possible.
For anyone requiring an acute detox, we will transfer you to either North Hawaii Community Hospital or Hilo Hospital so that they can monitor you in a hospital setting until your withdrawal symptoms have subsided.
Should I detox before I arrive?
Attempting to stop using a substance on your own, without medical supervision, could be dangerous. For this reason, we do not recommend detoxing before you arrive. When you register to attend Exclusive Hawaii Rehab, we will provide you with detailed information on how to prepare for treatment. These instructions will be individualized for your unique needs and situation.
