What Is Detox Like?

During detox, you will be provided with all the help you need to remain safe and as comfortable as possible. We have onsite medical staff who can assess your individual situation and ensure you are prescribed medication if it is necessary and if you wish, but we also have a non-medical detox that uses all-natural supplementation, nutrition, counseling, bodywork therapies, and health treatments to help you with pain, discomfort and emotional distress you may encounter. How Long Does Detox Last?

Depending on what you are detoxing from, and the duration, amount, and frequency of use, your personal detox can take anywhere from a few days up to two weeks. Withdrawal symptoms can show up within a few hours of your last use, and will likely escalate until you hit your peak, usually around the 72-hour mark. After that, you will begin to feel a bit better every day. Our medical staff will keep close watch over your progress, and you will get through it as quickly as possible.

What Happens After Detox?

After detox, you will move into a 30-, 60- or 90-day inpatient rehab program, with the option to continue with our six-month aftercare program to continue working with our therapy team if you like.

The timeline of your couple’s addiction treatment will go as follows:

You will each first be screened for physical and mental co-occurring conditions and interviewed so we can find out more about your history and your goals and preferences, and ensure your health is at a level where you do not need to detox in a hospital setting. We also screen for co-occurring conditions at this time to find out if a dual diagnosis treatment is appropriate.

We will then create individualized programs for each of you that also include family and couples therapy programs. This will involve getting to know you as a person and finding out what you want to get out of your treatment. You will begin detoxing directly after you check in to our facility. Depending on what substance(s) you are detoxing from, and whether you are working on healing physical or mental health issues as well, your timeline may be longer or shorter than your spouse’s. In general, detox takes around one week to ten days.

After your detox period is over, we will transition you into a 30-, 60-, or 90-day rehab program. This is where the true work begins. You will have begun therapy and holistic treatments while in detox, but we will kick it into high gear once you are physically stabilized.
