Long Term Luxury Rehab
What is a Long-Term Rehab?
The phrase “long-term rehab” usually refers to an intensive, inpatient treatment option for those suffering from alcohol, drug, or treatable addiction. Generally, long-term rehabilitation programs are residential, and this is no different for long term luxury rehab.
This means that the client lives at the facility for the duration of their treatment. Clients who attend long-term rehabilitation programs often stay for more than what is thought of as the ‘standard’ of 28 to 30 days.

Why Choose Long Term Luxury Rehab?
This extended stay is because long-term rehabilitation programs offer intensive substance abuse treatment that cannot be replicated at home or in outpatient treatment facilities. Clients who choose a long-term rehab program instead of an outpatient program may benefit from:
- 24/7 supervision by trained staff members.
- The long-term aspect of the program ensures that the patient has enough time to move through the phases of recovery at a pace that works for them. The ability to have additional transitional steps can aid long-term sobriety.
- A safe and comfortable, healing environment wherein all clients can focus on their recovery without distractions.
- An opportunity to practice new skills in a supportive environment.
What are the Typical Features Of A Luxury Rehab Facility?
Luxury rehab centers are not your run-of-the-mill addiction treatment facility. They are designed to meet those who have the highest expectations and needs for their recovery experience. Luxury refers to the treatment facilities as well as the amenities that someone attending these facilities is likely to encounter. The following are some of the hallmarks of a luxury rehab center:
- Exceptional Programs – Perhaps the most important thing that you find with a luxury rehab facility above other options is the sheer quality of the programs and the qualifications of the staff who run those programs. Luxury rehab facilities are usually accredited, and their programs are typically science-backed and proven treatments. In addition to this, you can expect luxury rehabs to feature holistic treatments as part of their overall care and aftercare components. All three of these components are vital and must work in concert with each other to give the patient the best chance of long-term sobriety. You can expect the practitioners to be highly professional, capable, and compassionate.
- Private Rooms and Suites –While many people think the most essential feature of a luxury rehab center is its location (near the beach, in a big city, or a rural area), this is not necessarily true. What matters more is whether or not you have a private room or suite during your stay at the facility. Having a personal space allows you to be as comfortable as possible while recovering from substance abuse problems.
- Luxury Rehab Centers Offer Delicious Meals – The quality of food served at your facility can make or break your recovery process. Luxury rehab centers offer delicious meals prepared by professional chefs who know how to please even the pickiest eaters. And if you want something unique that isn’t on the menu, all you have to do is ask! Most luxury rehab centers will accommodate special requests when possible.
- Luxury Treatments – Many luxury rehabs offer spa treatments as part of their program, including manicures, pedicures, massages, and facials. These services help patients relax after spending time in group therapy sessions or completing other tasks associated with recovery.
What Therapies And Treatments Are Used In Luxury Rehabs?
Luxury Rehabs typically feature programs that run the entire spectrum of what is currently available to treat substance abuse. These will invariably include both evidence-backed treatments as well as holistic programs. Each case is unique, so what programs are employed will depend on what the specialist recommends to the patient in their consultation.
Keep in mind that, broadly, substance abuse treatments either fall into inpatient or outpatient programs. Inpatient programs essentially require the patient to reside in the facility for the duration of treatment. Outpatient treatment typically involves patients coming into the facility for their scheduled treatments but not living at the facility.
Which of these are utilized depends on many factors, including how severe the case is and what phase of recovery the patient is at. But what are the most common features of these luxury rehabs, and what should someone going into them expect? Let’s explore what you’re likely to see when you enter one of these facilities.
- Holistic Methods: This is the side of substance abuse treatment that seeks to balance the scientifically-motivated treatments. Comprising treatments that center around building life skills, yoga, meditation habits, art therapy, and more, Holistic treatments seek to posit that by building habits that encourage a life lived in peace, one can be best placed to have a successful and long-term sobriety that sticks.
- Detoxification: Detoxing from drugs or alcohol is an essential step on the road to recovery. A detox program helps your body get rid of toxic substances that could be harmful to you, especially if you’re going through withdrawal symptoms. Detoxification aims to help you recover safely from drug or alcohol use by stabilizing your vital signs and reducing withdrawal symptoms. This is typically an inpatient treatment that features around-the-clock medical monitoring with intervention available if necessary.
- Medication-assisted treatment (MAT): MAT refers to using medications like methadone or Suboxone to treat addiction. These drugs are considered safer than illicit drugs because they have been approved by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA). They also help prevent cravings and reduce withdrawal symptoms so that people can focus on their recovery without getting sick again.
- Psychotherapy: This can happen individually or in group settings. The truth is that many factors lead to substance abuse, but, for the most part, it is agreed upon that genetics, and environmental factors are two of the strongest ones. There are various frameworks psychotherapy can take; Talk therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, Prolonged-Exposure Therapy, and more. The bottom line amongst all of them is that they are an attempt to be able to diagnose some of the underlying factors responsible for the addiction in the first place. Some of these underlying factors can cause significant difficulty in overcoming addiction.

Dual Diagnosis and Treating The Underlying Causes of Addiction
Substance use disorders are often accompanied by other mental health problems, such as depression and anxiety. These dual diagnosis patients have a higher risk of relapsing than those who don’t suffer from an additional disorder. Treating the underlying issues will help avoid relapse and improve the quality of the patient’s life. This is a crucial responsibility of any luxury rehab.
The first step to treating a substance use disorder is detoxification and achieving a baseline of sobriety. The next step is treating the underlying causes of the addiction. It is critical to understand that one cannot be cured without treating the other. Recovery programs offer psychological and medical care to address the many factors contributing to addiction.
In addition to addressing substance abuse issues, treatment for dual diagnosis also addresses other mental health conditions such as depression, anxiety, bipolar disorder, or schizophrenia. For example, the patient may be prescribed antidepressants or antipsychotics during inpatient treatment if they have bipolar disorder, depression, or anxiety that may also be contributing to their substance use disorder.
What are the Benefits Of Traveling For Addiction Treatment?
While treatment for a substance abuse disorder is theoretically possible in almost any setting, traveling away from one’s typical and familiar environment for treatment has many tangible benefits. Among the benefits that patients have found are:
- It is far easier to focus on recovery when the patient is significantly separated from the triggers and temptations of their home environment. If they have a history of relapsing after treatment in past attempts at rehabilitation, this can help prevent it from happening again.
- The patient may be able to get more out of the experience if they are not distracted by other responsibilities at home. This allows them to focus entirely and devote the lion’s share of their efforts and attention to their recovery without worrying about work or family issues getting in the way of that critical process.
- It’s easier for family members to cope with their loved ones receiving treatment if they’re not in daily contact with them during this time since being around someone struggling with addiction can sometimes make matters worse instead of better (especially if they live together).
- If the patient’s home environment isn’t conducive to recovery, traveling for substance abuse treatment allows them to leave that behind and move forward with living a healthy life free of drugs or alcohol — which is ultimately what everyone wants!
- This factor is specific to Hawaii. The environment there is one of the most naturally beautiful and healing in the entire world. When it comes to reconnecting with life on a simple, pure level, few other places potently facilitate this. While beautiful surroundings are not a necessary part of recovery, one would be hard placed to argue that it doesn’t contribute significantly to making that process a better one.
Does Insurance Cover Long-Term Luxury Rehab?
Insurance coverage for long-term luxury rehab treatment in Hawaii is limited. However, there are some exceptions which can be found below.
- Private Insurance Policies – If the patient has a private insurance policy, they should check with their provider before entering any residential treatment facility in Hawaii to see if they cover long-term luxury rehab treatment facilities. Some policies cover up to 90 days, while others only cover up to 30 days.
- Medicare & Medicaid – Medicare covers residential drug and alcohol rehabilitation programs in Hawaii. The program covers up to 30 days of inpatient care under certain conditions. Suppose longer than 30 days of inpatient care is required. In that case, Medicare will pay for it only if the patient meets specific criteria, including being judged as a danger to themselves or others due to their substance abuse disorder. Medicaid also covers residential drug rehabilitation programs in Hawaii under certain conditions, including being approved for benefits before admission into the program and having no other options available for treatment (such as paying for it out of pocket). At this time, Exclusive Hawaii Rehab does not accept Medicare or Medicaid policies, however.
This is the bottom line – insurance is not a one-size-fits-all solution. Whether you are covered for what you need can differ from facility to facility with no apparent rhyme or reason. To be safest, it is always best to look into it before committing to a line of treatment or making any decisions.
A good, reputable facility will always be willing to assist you in finding out whether or not you’re covered and, if you aren’t, what other options might be available to you for getting help. Keep that in mind, and call our Intake Coordinators to determine your eligibility any time.
