Are You Fully Licensed And Accredited?
Exclusive Hawaii is licensed by the State of Hawaii’s Department of Health as a special treatment facility. We are also licensed by the state’s Alcohol and Drug Abuse Division and we were awarded a three-year accreditation by the renowned Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities. This is the highest level of accreditation offered to treatment facilities.
How much freedom will I have? Will I be able to use my cell phone and laptop?
We offer premier accommodations at Exclusive Hawaii Rehab. We allow access to the internet via laptops, cellphones, or other devices to help you maintain your life through your recovery journey. To maintain a healthy balance, internet use is determined by each client’s specific needs. The key is to not interfere with the program’s delivery or with the client’s process. We encourage clients to communicate with friends and family for therapeutic reasons during the program. This will allow you to learn how to handle triggers and navigate your emotions in real-time with support next to you. Keep in mind however that there may be certain times when your program director may call for a media-free day. This is decided based on the needs and best interests of each individual.
What is the admissions process like? How soon can I come?
Clients are admitted on a first-come, first-served basis; a non-refundable program deposit is required to start the intake and admissions process. When a room becomes available, it takes 24 hours for intake for Hawaii locals. For clients traveling from elsewhere, intake will take 48 hours depending on the client’s situation. Our admissions process begins with a phone interview to minimize paperwork prior to coming to treatment.
Hilo International Airport is the nearest airport to Exclusive Hawaii Rehab. It is best for clients to arrive Monday through Friday between 9 AM and 1 PM. This is due to the need for blood work required for our medical director to assign your detox protocol. Due to the hours the lab is open, we do not complete admissions during the weekends.

What is the difference between 12-step and non 12-step treatment?
Twelve-step recovery programs ask participants to admit that they are powerless over their addiction and give themselves over to a higher power. They also believe that once a person has become an addict they will always be an addict, recovery is a form of remission from an incurable disease.
