Tina has recently completed a two-year drug addiction training course at Hawaii Community College and is currently working towards her Certified Substance Abuse Counselor (CSAC) from ADAD through her verified work experience training at Exclusive Hawaii Rehab. As a CSAC intern, Tina is a member of the therapy team while also training and learning to assist in client assessments, admission, IRP’s, counseling, and much more.
Her biggest wish for clients in recovery is that they recognize their own control to change their experience to something more empowering and enable them to live the life they envision. She is inspired by seeing the light of understanding switch on in other people’s eyes.
Prior to taking full time off to focus entirely on completing her accredited substance use program at HCC, Tina worked as Front of the House Manager and facilitated client excursions at the Exclusive from 2016 to 2019. Combining her experience as well as her current role as CSAC intern, Tina has a very well-rounded understanding of the company culture.
Tina and her life outside of work can only be described as a rainbow. During her leisure time, she is either exploring the island with her fiancé on their Harley motorcycle or can be found tending to her beehives. Her natural tendency to be flexible, she easily sees the positive in any color, person, or situation.
Originally from Oregon, Tina moved to the Big Island in 2001 at 29 years old. She raised her children on a 50-acre macadamia nut orchard. Her favorite part of Hawaii is the openness of the people and the beauty of the land and sea keep her in constant awe and appreciation.
